INFORMATION PACK LETTER – Sent with Registrant Personal Schedule, Time Table and Promotional Flyer.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for registering for our first major craft event of the year.   It is our pleasure to enclose your schedule and other information for Crafting Connection 2007.

Schedule

  • Your schedule outlines the classes, start times and quantity of “seats” that you have registered for.  Please check it over carefully and compare it to your original registration details and contact us immediately if there are any discrepancies at all
  • This is a great opportunity for filling in the blanks… many more images of projects and products are available on our website now – have another peek as we are sure you will want to squeeze just one more class into your schedule.

Class Tools and Equipment - “To Bring Lists”

  • Please make sure you visit www.kiwiscraps.co.nz/cc2007fs/news.htm for the specific Tutor links to see which tools and equipment may be needed for the classes you are attending… in addition to your basic craft tools.  Then visit www.kiwiscraps.co.nz/cc2007fs/products.htm to order the items you need. Use Discount Code “CC2007FS” and we will process a 10% discount on items ordered for your registered classes.

(Note: If other items other than the the CC2007 ones are order in the order using this Discount Code, the Discount will not be applied to other items when processed).

  • Please be reminded that only a limited quantity of basic tools and supplies will be available for purchase at the event venue so we recommend you take this early opportunity to arrange for their purchase if needed.
  • Our Tutor Pages and Event web pages feature a few “sneak peeks” of one or two of their projects/classes – so you can see a little for yourself why you might need certain items!
  • There are also the Tutor profiles and links to “blogs” and galleries if interested.

Registration

Please check in at our Registration/Information Desk upon your arrival to obtain any additional Venue and Event information... and to collect one of our “be inspired…create” quality cotton Tote Bags if eligible.

Maya Road have also sponsored a “Chipboard” Key Ring – be sure to collect yours along with your Embroidery Needle and Felting Needle - we decided it would be easier to give everyone these rather than to include in the varied kits!

Please be sure to check our CC2007 web pages now and again for “new” information as it becomes available.

Attending Classes

  • Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to classes and wait outside the classroom until the doors are opened.  We will be developing “class lists” this year, so all you have to do is provide your name as you enter your classes and we will check your name off of our lists - no tickets to remember to bring this year!
  • All supplies needed to complete the classes will be provided except for those listed on the class requirements list.
  • Some shared tools may be provided – please ensure these remain after class for the next participants or for other classes.
  • Cameras are permitted in the classrooms – but show consideration for others when using these and please respect the copyright nature and ownership of these classes.
  • At the end of each class, please leave the Classroom promptly as preparations need to be made immediately for the next class.
  • In the interests of general safety and respect for others the following are not permitted in any Classroom:
    • Drinks (except those contained in sealable bottles)  or food (except for simple confectionary)
    • Children of any age
    • Walkmans/MP3 players, etc.
    • Large Tote Bags or craft trolleys of any kind (these can be checked in at the Registration Desk if required).

Refreshment Breaks

  • Morning and afternoon teas will be served at varying times as per the event timetable.
  • Lunches are an “optional event extra” and must be prepaid and ordered with your registration and will be listed on your Event Schedule if you have done so.

Mega Crop

This will be a great opportunity to get "up close and personal" with the US Tutors in a rather unusual way, win some great product prizes... and certainly to have fun and enjoy the company of others!

The emphasis this year is on “doing your own thing” – providing ample opportunity to complete projects, work on new ones, etc.

The Tutors will all be present briefly at the Crops, except for in Auckland where they will be the Hosts and will personally share Make ‘n Takes they have designed.  In Wellington and Sydney, after a day of teaching, they will only be making a brief appearance… but their Make ‘n Takes will be available for everyone to experience.

Please remember – you must pre-register for the Crops.  There are limited spaces available – ensuring adequate space for everyone to enjoy the evening.

  • AUCKLAND Crop: to be held at the Event Venue on the Friday Evening from 7:30pm until approximately 11:30pm.
  • WELLINGTON Crop: to be held either at the venue or at the KiwiScraps Store (will be confirmed before the Event) on the Saturday Evening from 7:30pm until approximately 11:30pm.
  • SYDNEY Crop: to be held at the Event Venue on the Saturday Evening from 7:30pm until approximately 11:30pm.

"Scrapped"…  the Movie

What's this you might say... a movie about Scrapbooking? How on earth can you do that? Well... US Director/Producer Wes Thomsen did!

Taking the US Scrapbooking community by storm, this homegrown, basement produced docu-drama respectfully explores, questions, educates and amuses as it delves into the world of Scrapbooking.   Wes Thomsen... a goatee'd biker from way back... personally delivers this docu-drama in a manner that will appeal to all - Scrapbookers of all genres and styles... as well as often mystified families, husbands and partners.

Its debut was at a Creative Memories event late in 2006... but now it's your turn to see it in Wellington and Sydney at the Event Venue on Friday.  Register for this in the “extras” section of the registration pages online.

Spot Prizes and Competitions

In addition to various Spot Prizes and Give-Aways during the Event, we have two Xyron Personal Cutting Systems (approx. value $400 each) and a Xyron Design Runner plus Cartridge (approx. value $400) to give to three very lucky Freestyle participants! There will be one of these items given away at each of the three Event locations.

Spot Prizes have been donated by Finishing Touches and Designing Memories

We are also pleased to be awarding prizes for your own creativity subsequent to the Event.   Participants of Event “Freestyle Album” Classes can choose to participate in our “Freestyle Album Competition” by picking up our "blank" chipboard album covers and inserts at our Information Desk.  You then “decorate” your cover in your own "free" style using some of the techniques you have learned throughout our weekend Event, or those you already knew!  So... anything goes!  Your finished covers (images) can then be submitted to info@kiwiscraps.co.nz for "judging" by the CC2007 Freestyle Team at the end of May.  One person from each Crafting Connection 2007 Freestyle Event venue will receive an awesome Product Pack worth at least $75!

Crafting Connection 2007 “Stacy Julian & Friends”

As supporters of Crafting Connection 2007 Freestyle – you will be given preferential opportunity to register for our next event in November 2007… “Stacy Julian & Friends”.

Confirmed to be accompanying Stacy already are Wendy Smedley and Renee Pearson… with some awesome classes, VIP Events and product support already planned and arranged.

Due to the slightly different nature of some aspects of this Event - there will be some compulsory participatory aspects of it to ensure maximum experience – Registrations will be limited.

Further information will be in your Registration Pack – with the opportunity to pre-register which we certainly encourage you to consider.

Swap Pins and Name Badges

For the un-initiated, these are a great way to introduce yourself, make a statement, make new contacts… and have some fun.  While there is no sponsored competition for these at this particular Event… please don’t let that stop you from sharing this side of your creativity with others!

KiwiScraps Store and Supplies

  • We will have a range of class-related product available for sale at each of the Event venues. In addition in:
    • Auckland – we will be bringing up a selection of product from the Wellington store
    • Wellington – we will be offering a shuttle service from the Event Venue to KiwiScraps
    • Sydney – some additional product will be offered
  • In Auckland and Wellington there will be manufacturer representatives with displays, demonstrations, samples and ever-popular “Make ‘n Takes” at the Event for you to participate in as suits your schedule.
  • In Wellington the KiwiScraps Classroom/Workshop and store will be open and available for extended hours during the Event to complete Classroom projects, to Scrapbook, or just to generally meet with other participants… so we hope you will take the opportunity to come and visit us!
